Rav מאיר שפירא was visited by one of his former classmates who turned away from learning to go into business and became very wealthy. “מאיר, do you remember those days when we learned together?” the former classmate asked. “We were so close, we even slept in the same bed.” ר׳ מאיר answered him: “Sure I remember. But I also remember that there was an invisible wall between us and each of us faced in a different direction.”
