The מהר״ם of Lublin was said to have permitted the taking of interest, a practice which the מהרש״א condemned. When the מהרש״א was in Lublin, he visited at the home of the מהר״ם. The Rebbitzin of the מהר״ם baked a cake for the guest and sprinkled it with sugar. “This is אבק רבית,” the מהרש״א said. “No,” the Rebbitzin answered, “its אבק לשון הרע.”
