When ר׳ יהונתן אייבישיץ was a child, his mother made קניידלעך, matzoh balls, for a soup. The young יהונתן asked her if she could get something from another room and while she was out, he helped himself to some of the קניידלעך. When she returned and asked him why he ate them without permission, he answered: “I was מקיים the מצוה of שלח תשלח את האם ואת הבנים and the קניידלעך תקח לך.”
