A רב who was very careful in שמירת הלשון was once asked about a man whom he knew to be a liar. Not wanting to directly speak badly about the man, the רב said: “He has an incredible memory! There are people who remember things that happened 30 years ago. There are those who remember things that happened 50 years ago. This man remembers things that never happened.”
