An American boy married a girl from France and a little more than a year later they were in the maternity ward. When her obstetrician came to see how she was progressing, she moaned “Mon dieu, Mon dieu!” “Doctor, Doctor,” gasped her husband, “Quick, she’s giving birth!” The doctor shook his head and said “Not yet.” An hour later, she asked her husband to get the doctor. Again, the husband said “Doctor, Doctor, she’s giving birth!” “Not yet,” replied the doctor. A few minutes later, she cried “Oy gevald! Mama, Mama!” “Now!” said the doctor, grinning.
