Rav Simcha Bunim said that there are three things in עבודת ה׳ that we can learn from a גנב and three from an infant. (1) The גנב is steadfast in his task, stealing even when it’s pouring or freezing outside. (2) He is not discouraged by failure; rather, he tries again and again. And (3) he doesn’t dismiss even a small job. The infant is (1) almost always happy. (2) He always manages to keep himself occupied. And (3) when he wants something, he cries out.
