An unscrupulous member of a קהילה took a neighbor to a בית דין, demanding money to which he was not entitled. When he lost before the בית דין, he pressed his claim in a secular court, where he swore in a complaint that he was owed the money. Before the case could be heard, however, he dropped dead. The רב of the קהילה said: “הוא ביקש להיות ׳נשבע ונוטל׳ ולבסוף היה ל׳נשבע ונפטר׳.”
