When רב חיים מבריסק was asked by author for his הסכמה on a ספר, he said “When you go out alone at night, take this ספר with you and it will protect you from harm.” Beaming, the author asked “Is it that good and קדוש?” “No,” רב חיים answered. “But חז״ל tell us: תלמיד חכם אל יצא יחידי בלילה מפני המזיקים. However, when the מזיקים see this ספר, they will not harm you because they will immediately see that you’re not a תלמיד חכם.”
