A מלמד teaching the boys in חדר about kosher and טמא animals and birds mentioned the דוכיפת. “What is a דוכיפת?” one of the boys asked the מלמד. The מלמד thought about it for a moment and said: דוכיפת זה דג משוגע. “But רבי,” the boy said, “What is a דג doing amongst the עופות?” “You see,” the מלמד answered, “זה השיגעון שלו.”
