In reference to the פסוק in זכריה ב, ג, which, in connection with קיבוץ גלויות states ויראני ה׳ ארבעה חרשים, the גמרא in Sukkah 52b states that the four craftsmen are אליהו, דוד בן משיח, יוסף בן משיח, and כהן צדק. Responding to the question of why we need two משיחים, Rav זונדל of Kaminetz said: one to take us out of גלות and the other to take the גלות out of us.
