When רב ברוך wasn’t feeling well, הירשל put on the רב’s clothing, sat in his chair and made himself the רבי.  A poor woman came into his study and cried that her daughter is in labor for days and the baby refuses to come out.  “Go back home and gather ten men to say יזכור at the foot of your daughter’s bed,” הירשל told her.  The next day the woman returned to thank רבי ברוך. The רבי, realizing that הירשל had given her this advice, asked him for the source of the סגולה.  “It’s a מנהג בישראל,” said הירשל, “as soon as יזכור starts, all of the children go out.”
