An illustrator of a book of אגדות included a drawing of שאול המלך in the home of the בעלת אוב.  Upon seeing the drawing, the owner of the book expressed surprise that the face of שאול was drawn to resemble the face of a חיה, rather than that of an angel, which is how others have drawn him.  The illustrator explained: “If someone told you that your manuscript will be taken from you and given to someone else to publish, would you be smiling or frowning?”
