The גמרא says לא תעשו אגודות אגודות.  R’ יצחק אלחנן once was visiting a large city and went to the main shul for מנחה. There was hardly a מנין.  The surprised רב asked how this was possible in a city know to have many יראי שמים.  One of the מתפללים said: “Some are in the שטיבל of the חסידי רוז׳ין; some are in the שטיבל of the חסידי צ׳רנוביל; and some are in the שטיבל of the חסידי קרלין.”  R’ יצחק אלחנן responded: Now I understand the פסוק in Perek נ of תהילים, which says אספו לי חסידי.  Since the רביים have divided up the Jews amongst themselves, and each took his חסידים, when the ריבונו של עולם says אספו לי חסידי, He is saying “perhaps you can find some חסידים for me.”
