Two parrots, one green and one red, flew out of their owner’s home. He chased after them and saw them land on the branch of an apple tree. When they failed to respond to his calls for them to come down, he asked a slightly deranged young man to climb up the tree and bring them down. The שוטה made his way up the branches of the apple tree and within a short while came down holding the red parrot. “I got this one for you,” he said, “but the green one isn’t ripe yet.”
