A חסיד who saw a woman ask his רבי for a ברכה that she bear a child, asked what he told her. The רבי responded: “I assured her that she will become pregnant.” The חסיד asked how he could give such assurance. “The truth,” the רבי responded, “is that I can’t be sure. It’s in the hands of the רבונו של עולם. By contrast, when a שייגטץ assures a girl that she won’t get pregnant, it’s almost a certainty that she will.”
