An עם הארץ boasted that he has a מגילת יוחסין that goes back all the way to אדם הראשון.  A man who knew his true character said: “I’m surprised that you don’t have a מגילת יוחסין going back further than that.”  The עם הארץ asked how could anyone have a מגילת יוחסין going back further than אדם הראשון?  The man responded: “Perhaps you have forgotten, before השם created אדם, he created the בהמות.“
