Rav Kook was once asked how he could be so gracious to people who come to see him but are not שומרי מצוות. “How do you deem them worthy to enter a מקום קדוש?” The רב answered: “After the completion of the building of the קודש הקדשים, no one entered there except for the כוהן גדול בקדושה ובטהרה. But while it was being built, do you think it was only כוהנים גדולים who were doing the building?”
