When רב אברהם מסוכצ׳וב, the author of אבני נזר, was a 5 year old child, his father told him after שחרית on יום כפור to go home and eat something. When he returned, his father asked him if he made קידוש before eating. He answered: “At first, I did think that I need to make קידוש. But then I reconsidered because all the מצוות that a קטן fulfills are done to train him to fulfill when he becomes an adult. And the מצוה of making קידוש on יום כפור is one I hope I will never fulfill when I become an adult.”
