A man came to his רב and said he wants a divorce. The רב asked why and the man told him that his wife’s appearance no longer attracted him. The רב asked the רבנית to come in and said to the man: “Look at my wife. She’s not the same as when we married almost 50 years ago and yet, I don’t divorce her.” The man responded: “רבי, the חכמים said in yesterday’s דף about people like you ‘כל הגדול מחבירו יצרו גדול הימנו’ and I’m but a simple Jew, neither a רב nor a גדול.”
