A famous חזן, whose greatness was not so much his voice as his choir, gave a subpar performance at a concert in a small town which couldn’t afford to pay for the choir. The חזן sighed and said: אינו דומה מי שיש לו פת בסלו למי שאין לו פת בסלו.
