Many years ago, there was a practice in ישיבות for a student to be responsible for distributing mail to the בחורים in the ישיבה, who would give him a small payment each month. On one occasion, the תלמיד who acted as the postman met one of the students in the שוק and complained that it had been many months since he had received anything from him. The offended student responded: “I guess you’ve been drinking and that’s why you confront me like this. How many shots have you had? Three?” “No. In fact, I’ve had four,” came the reply. “And therefore I’m תובע אפילו חמור בשוק.”
