A תלמיד חכם asked רבי יעקב עמדין for advice on limiting the number of people who come to ask him foolish questions and disturb his learning. The רב gave him the following suggestion: “When wealthy people come, ask them for a loan. You’ll never see them again. When poor people come, extend them a loan. You’ll never see them again.”
