Albert Einstein never really got the hang of tying a necktie. His wife always did it for him. Once, while staying at a hotel without his wife to assist him, Einstein went to the lobby and asked one of the hotel guests if he would mind tying the necktie for him. The man readily agreed to do so, but asked Einstein to lay down on the couch when he did so. Einstein obliged but then asked why he requested that he lie down rather than stand. “Oh,” the man responded, “I work at a funeral parlor and I’m used to dressing people while they’re lying down.”
