As the screams of his drowning mother-in-law we’re coming from the river, a man began praying מנחה. Seeing this, a passerby said: “Your mother-in-law is drowning and your davening מנחה?!” The man responded: “There is an ענין בהלכה להתפלל לפני שקיעת החמה.”
