מנחות סג

Sitting in shul one שבת, a pious man realized that he has ESP.  He could read minds.  He focused on the lawyer to his right and saw that he was thinking about the cases he was litigating.  He focused on the trader to his left and saw that he was thinking about his stocks going up and down. He turne his gaze to the רב and saw that he was thinking about whether the congregation would give him a raise or not.  He was really disturbed that these were the things that people were thinking about during davening and on שבת.  Then, he read the mind of a man passing by and was overjoyed to see that he was thinking about Rambam, Shulchan Aruch, and Shita Mekubetzes.  “What do you do for a living?” he asked. “I’m a bookseller.”
