When רבי אייזל חריף heard that a משולח had taken for himself most of the money that had been donated for צדקה, he said: “Now I understand the answer to a question I had about פרשת וישלח. The פרשה states that when יעקב and עשו met, וישקהו ויבכו. It’s not hard to figure out why יעקב was crying: he had just spent a small fortune for the מנחה that he sent to עשו. But why was עשו crying? Apparently, it was because the משולחים took most of the מנחה for themselves.”
