An אבל in the 12 months went before the תיבה to serve as שליח ציבור. Another man came up and said: “Sorry. I’m in the thirty days.” But before he could begin the תפילה, yet another man said he was חייב to be the ש”ץ because he had יאהרצייט that day. But before he could start, a young man claimed the תיבה because he was still in the midst of שבעה. Just as he was about to begin, an עני came to the front and said: “I take precedence over all of you because I am like the מת himself.”
