Boys were learning in ישיבת חכמי לובלין, when one of them presented what he thought was a novel חידוש. One of the other boys, however, quickly belittled his חידוש by saying that it’s a מלבי״ם מפורש. Hearing this, רבי מאיר שפירא said: “לא מלבי״ם הוא זה, אלא מלבין פני חבירו ברבים.”
