R’ אייזיל חריף went to the home of a wealthy man to ask for צדקה for עניים. The man had a heart of stone and the רבי had to speak with him for an hour before the man finally coughed up a donation. When the רבי’s חסידים heard that he actually received money from this miser, they exclaimed: “The power of our רבי is greater than the power of משה רבינו. He extracted water from the stone; our רבי extracted money from the stone.”
