The Brisker Rav, רבי יוסי-בר, observed that שירת האזינו is long; שירת הים is shorter; and שירת הבאר is shortest of all, consisting of only 4 פסוקים. He explained that there is a saying that “the רבי knows; the students together with the רבי know less; and the students alone hardly know anything.” Thus, משה רבינו said שירת האזינו alone, which is why it’s long; at שירת הים, it states אז ישיר משה ובני ישראל, which is why it’s shorter; and שירת הבאר was said by the students alone, אז ישיר ישראל, which is why it’s the shortest of all.
