A רב was asked why מעות חטין are given for פסח and not for סוכות. The רב explained: “With respect to פסח, the תורה says שבעת ימים מצות תאכלו and food costs money. But with respect to סוכות, all the תורה demands is בסוכות תשבו and sitting is free.”
