When the Jews left מצרים after hundreds of years of slavery, it was a tremendous miracle. This was followed by the awesome miracle of השם splitting the sea and the Jews entering the dry land between the columns of water. What was the first thing that they did?  They complained.  “It’s hot. We’re thirsty. There’s no water to drink.  The water around us is full of salt.”  משה רבינו, was beside himself.  But a Medrash teaches that there were fish in the sea. The fish told משה רבינו, “We can filter the water and provide fresh water for the Jews to drink.  We’ll filter it and they’ll stop complaining.  However, we know that in the future the Jews will commemorate יציאת  מצרים with a סדר and we want a place at the table.”  משה רבינו thought about it for a moment and said: “OK.  Go filter fish.”
