R’ אייזל חריף was treated by the town’s doctor and it was apparent to him that the man was not competent.  “How can you live in this town?” he asked.  “The גמרא in מסכת סנהדרין teachesעיר שאין בה רופא אסור לדור בה. I and the other residents of this town have been under the understanding that there is a doctor who resides amongst us, so we were permitted to live here.  But you know the truth, that you are not qualified to serve as a doctor, and that there is no other doctor in town, so how can you live here?”
