When the late Satmar Rebbi wanted to become a United States citizen, he went with his שמש to the Immigration and Naturalization office in New York.  He was told that he would need to answer a few questions about America.  The officer asked him who was the first president of the United States?  The שמש translated for him, but the Rebba didn’t have an answer.  Recognizing that he was dealing with an important person, the officer wanted to help him out.  He pulled out a dollar bill and showed it to the Rebba.  The Rebba turned to his שמש and instructed him: “zag dem orel az veiniger fun a hinderter nem ich nisht.” (Tell the גוי that I don’t take less than a hundred.)
