R’ יעקב קראנץ was riding in a horse drawn carriage when it came to a steep hill. He asked the wagon driver to stop and got off the wagon. “רבי,” the driver asked, “why are you getting off? The horse will manage to take us up.” רבי יעקב answered: “I know the horse can do it, but it will strain him. And I know that if he would bring me to דין, the דין would be with me. But I don’t want to litigate with a horse.”
