Rebbi משה הגר of קוסוב observed that the תאווה to be the בעל תפילה is different from other תאוות. “When it comes to other תאוות,” he said, “people act discreetly, so that others should not hear or see. But for תפילה לפני התיבה, the more people there are who will hear and see, the greater the תאווה.”
