R’ חיים מוולוז׳ין was completely absorbed in תורה.  When someone would be asking him a question, his lips did not cease from reviewing the תורה he was learning and it seemed as if he had not heard a word that was spoken to him.  But this was a misimpression.  To everyone’s amazement, he heard every word and was able to give a brilliant answer.  When asked how he did it, the גאון made it seem like it was no big deal.  “Why, I have often seen how people move their lips during the תפילה, but their hearts are totally focused on דברים אחרים לגמרי,” he said.
