An אברך once came to see the אבני נזר, who asked him what he was learning. When the אברך said he was learning the סוגיא of כבתה, which relates to the obligation to relight a חנוכה light which became extinguished, the רבי asked him a few questions and saw that he knew nothing. The רבי told him: “You haven’t learned כבתה, but your father-in-law learned כפתה, as פסחים מט states: המשיא בתו לעם הארץ כאילו כופתה ומניחה לפני ארי.”
