Two Jews met on a train and exchanged small talk.  After a short while, one of them said “My רב is so great that a רב like him comes along once in a generation.”  The other one said: “No. The greatness of my רב is such that it comes along only once in a generation.”  Hearing this, a תלמיד חכם said to them: “The two of you have resolved a question that I always had about the הגדה של פסח.  I couldn’t understand how it could say חד גדיא, חד גדיא.  If there is only one גדי, how could there be two?  But now I understand.  If a generation can produce two great רבנים who are the Gedolei Hador in one generation, it’s also possible for there to be two חד גדיא.”
