An עם הארץ had been invited to a סדר. When everyone got up for ורחץ, he washed and loudly said: “ברוך אתה ה׳ אלוקינו מלך העולם אשר קדשנו במצוותיו וצוונו.” He said nothing more. When asked to explain the odd ברכה, he pointed to the words in the הגדה which say נוטלים ידים ולא אומרים על נטילת ידים.
