R’ אברהם ברודא offered an explanation from today’s דף on אשרי העם יודעי תרועה ה׳ באור פניך יהלכון.  The דף says that a person who does the קולי of בית שמאי and the קולי of בית הלל, or the חומרי of both of them, is referred to as כסיל בחושך הולך.   Now, it is known that there is a מחלוקת whether the תרועה of תקיעת שופר is ילולי יליל or גנוחי גניח and we are מחמיר and do both.  That means that כסיל בחושך הולך applies to us.  That is why we say אשרי העם יודעי תרועה.  Because then it can’t be said כסיל בחושך הולך.
