Today’s דף teaches: המבקר את החולה בשבת, בכניסתו אומר שלום וביציאתו אומר שבת היא מלזעוק ורפואה קרובה לבוא ורחמיו מרובין. The ישמח ישראל מאלכסנדר explained why the גמרא speaks of רפואה קרובה on שבת. He said that on a weekday the תפילה in שמונה עשרה for a חולה is רפאנו, but in the שמונה עשרה שבת, when we don’t say רפאנו, we are מתפלל and מכוון for it early on when we say מכלכל חיים…ורופא חולים. Thus, on שבת the request for רפואה is earlier than it is on weekdays, which is why it is referred to as רפואה קרובה.
