One שבת morning, the rabbi noticed that little Shmuel was staring at the memorial plaque in the synagogue hall. The rabbi walked over to him and wished him a good שבת. “Good שבת,” the little boy replied. “What are all the names on the wall?” he asked. “This is a memorial plaque to all the young men who died in the service,” the rabbi explained. “Which one,” Shmuel asked, “the Friday night or the שבת morning service?”
