The מגיד of Dubna saw a משכיל smoking on שבת. He turned to him and said: “Perhaps you have forgotten that today is שבת?” The משכיל responded: “No, I like to tell the truth. I know that today is שבת and I know that it’s אסור to smoke on שבת.” The מגיד replied: “What are you doing in the עולם השקר? A lover of truth like you should be in the עולם האמת.”
