At a פורים סעודה, a תלמיד said to his רב. “I’m impressed at your ability to answer questions and resolve difficult issues not just בו במקום, but also ממקום אחר. I have a question about a פסוק in the מגילה that doesn’t seem to make sense. Perhaps you can answer it ממקום אחר.” The רב told him to pose his question. Quoting from the מגילה, the תלמיד asked: “The מגילה says: ויבא את אוהביו ואת זרש אשתו ויספר להם המן את כבוד עושרו ורוב בניו. It’s understandable that he told his wife about כבוד עושרו, since a wife may not have had full knowledge of his assets. But what was the point of telling her about רוב בניו? Isn’t that something that she knew as well as him?” The רב answered: “The תרץ is ממקום אחר.”
