R’ לוי-יצחק מברדיצ׳ב went to the בית כנסת on ערב יום כיפור before מנחה. He looked under all the tables and chairs, approached the ארון קודש and said: “רבונו של עולם, look at the difference between בני ישראל and בני עשו. The בני ישראל are commanded to eat and drink today. If the בני עשו had been commanded to do so, they would be lying like drunks under all the tables and chairs. I, לוי-יצחק, testify before You and before this קהל קדוש that I have searched under every table and chair and I didn’t find even one שיכור.”
