When praying, רב יצחק לוי מברדיצ׳ב would say: “רבונו של עולם, the גמרא tells us that in Your תפילין is written אשריך ישראל, ומי כעמך ישראל. Now, a simple Jew whose תפילין fall to the ground, quickly picks them up and kisses them. רבונו של עולם, your תפילין, the בני ישראל, are lying on the ground. Won’t you do what a simple Jew would do?”
