R’ דוד לוריא once asked a farmer who lived in an adjacent town to send him wheat for פסח and the man agreed to do so. As פסח drew closer and the wheat did not arrive, the רב wrote him a letter with just five words: את חטאי אני מזכיר היום. Offended, the farmer wrote back: חציף עלי מאן דמפרש חטאיה, I view as insolent one who exposes his sin.
