ברכות- לה

A רב was invited to a סעודת פורים, where everyone but him was drinking without restraint. At the end of the סעודה, they were so drunk that they couldn’t stand on their feet and the רב saw that היה צורך לגרור אותם הביתה, they had to be dragged home. The רב commented: “This accords with what חז״ל say about drinking wine: פורתא מסעד סעיד טובא מגרר גריר. Wine satiates but if one drinks too much, צריכים לגרור אותו.”
