A man once remarked that ten דורות transpired from אדם to נח to produce a drunk and another ten דורות from נח to לוט to again produce a drunk. His friend responded: “It’s not surprising. The מגילה says ונח בארבעה עשר, which of course is פורים, a day on which it’s a מצוה to get drunk. Similarly, it’s not surprising that לוט got drunk. A man whose wife is a pillar of salt gets very thirsty. And people who are thirsty drink.”
